Oh man, has this been a long time coming!

If you are a web developer, then the issue with web fonts in Chrome will probably not be a surprise to you.

If you are not a web developer, you probably didn’t notice and have no idea what I’m referencing.

With the release of Chrome 37, Google finally introduced DirectWrite support for Windows!

Previously, custom web fonts looked extremely jagged and garbled, like this:

Even Google Fonts looked horrible in Chrome! Why would Google allow their own browser to be the last one which didn’t display their own fonts well?!

All the same, now as you browse the web using Chrome 37 (you are using Chrome, right? RIGHT?!), fonts will look smooth and beautiful, just as they were meant to.

Reading text has never been so enjoyable. Mmmmm.
